Internet users don’t really read content online, at least according to a study by Dr. Nielsen on reading behaviors of people on his website. His analysis shows that people only read 28% of the text on a web page and decreased the more text there is on the page. Here are some rules to follow when you have a lot of content.
1ne: Keep it to the point and use callouts throughout the page.
2wo: Keep key content in an F shaped patterns as this is how people read content.
3hree: Use images to break up the content and make sure the images of of real people using your product not picture perfect air brushed models.
4our: If you have a lot of content on a certain subject cut it down and cut it down again.
5ive: Make sure your content is at a 6th grade reading level or lower.
6ix: Make sure your content is interlinked within your site and linked to external sites to get indexed higher on search engines.
7even: If your content contains difficult to understand words or terms use a roll over to bring up a dictionary.
